Is LPG group a security company, the training facility, or both?

BSIS has no restriction on .45 cal or any particular model of gun, but a company can prescribe whatever they want their guards to carry, or possibly not carry in this case.

No regs on firearm model. All BSIS cares about is caliber qualifed in. If its LPG own training facility and your an outsider their rules. If its not and the instructor is jiat doing that then F----em

Not BSIS but I believe I have seen where some CCW issuing agencies will not allow a 1911 to be added to a permit.

No BSIS regulation...only what caliber is permitted. 9mm .40SW .45...

And I've got a 1911 on my CCW...so?? I fact the armorer doing the function test before my initial qualification looked up smiled and nodded his approval..

I haven't looked up the regs in years but like you mentioned usually such things are employer policies not BSIS. I've dealt with/seen some off the wall carry choices with security guards including 44 magnums.

I would just find another facility if it's important to you. But I can tell you with certainty that it has nothing to do with BSIS.

                    That's a new one.
I've seen max caliber .45, and various minimum calibers, but never a prohibition on a specific design other than the FN5.7

Call, on the tele-phono, BSIS in Sacramento and ask them.

No BSIS restrictions But I'd look for another training facility. If they won't let you qualify with it due to a training facility policy, they should say why they don't allow it or at least distinguish between BSIS regs and company policy. If they're not distinguishing between BSIS regs and their company policy on that issue, I'd seriously question the validity and quality of their other training.

It might be a policy of the training facility, I've known many PPOs to restrict what guns can be carried by their officers. Even LEO agencies, both local and federal, restrict what guns can be carried.

Most companies and agencies like the idea of at least the first trigger pull be double action. While a 1911 may make you feel good, I'd suggest you look for a gun that puts those safeties into practice.
