    Positive Gun Protection Stories

I did a search and didn't find anything. I would like to start a thread on gun ownership, handgun or long gun, and how you protected yourself, family, friends, or property. There are way too many negative stories in the media on how guns are used in a crime. I know there are many more stories when a gun is used in a positive manner and never reported. Now its our turn.

    Nice! This should be cool!

I work nights, and was RUDELY woken up one day to a guy, trying to get into my back yard, without announcing himself or anything! He had a reflective vest on, but no name tags, no truck, city logo...nothing! So as I headed to my back yard, I noticed a car idling in front of my house...So I opened the back door and asked the guy from behind the door, who was now looking into my window, into my Kitchen, "Can I help You", He replied, "I am with DWP, and I am just leaving, Thanks!"

I then asked if I can see ID, he ignored me, turned around, and started walking quickly back to the front... He didn't start running til he heard the infamous sound of racking my 870!

Poor Guy dove into the car's window, just like in the movies, the driver peeled out, never to be seen again!

I have a positive story about a gun used for protection.

Some odd months ago, I was camping with some friends out in BLM somewhere near Death Valley. The place we wanted to camp was occupied when we got there, so we went driving for a new spot. We found this one spot, which the best way I can describe it was like a mortar pit. 3 sides were straight up walls, the other side was open and sloped down slighting into the 'pit'. The place was probably about the size of a 2.5 car garage plus driveway. We had 2 cars with us, an F-350 and a Rav-4 and we had the Rav-4 parted inside and was used to augment the camping area. A couple of the guns took the truck to a nearby store/town/gastion/idunnowhat to get some more food because we had lost a cooler during the day.

So about an hour after they left, we see some pickup with roof lights bouncing around in the distance, and then as we noticed it was bouncing toward us. I figured they would leave up alone, so I hopped into the back set of the Rav to try to get a little sleep. 20 minutes after that I'm awaken by the sound of an obviously supped-up Diesel engine. This truck was a typical 'bro-mobile.' 12" lift, giant tires, huge axels, roof racks, roof lights, roof top heli-pad, you name it! It had it! These were you typical Abercrombie & finch buying, Oakley wearing, music blaring, good 'ol boys. Four of them free fall from the truck and start moseying up to my 2 friends sitting in the camp area. You can just tell they're out just to mess with someone.

Two of them walk up and sit down in front of my friends, asking 'what they're doing, why are they out here in the dark' kinda stuff. Then I noticed that one of the was holding something (it was later described as re-bar) so I open the Rav's door, and hop out with a Mossy 500 in hand, racked it and kindly told them to leave.(Note: shotgun was aimed upward the entire time) They freaked and leaped up back into the truck and drove away. The driver had a hard time climbing up, and he was scrambling so franticly

It's still a fun story to tell. Positive ending, taught some guys a good lesson.

One night a came home to an open door? I always lock all doors before I leave, I live in a suburb of Los Angeles, so I was concearned. I instructed friends/family to stay in the car, if you hear gun shots and don't see me come out...call 911...and drive down the street and wait for police. I found nothing in the house, no problems, but friends/family knew at that exact moment WHY firearm ownership is important.

Another story...At home with family I heard a large crash, like someone forcing their way in through a back window. I jumped up armed my self and went to check the noise. Again family knew why gun ownership is important, I was not going to be a statistic, I was going to choose what happened that night. Sometimes you can't wait for 911. 911 is nice but NOT IMMEDIATE! I was going to make sure we played the game MY way...not some bad guy was going to make ALL the decisions...this is my home, my friends/family. I instucted family to stay away, walk towards the front door and leave if they heard gun shots...the look on their faces was something I will never forget. To this day I don't know what that noise was...but was a good training situation. I know that I can arm myself fairly quickly (faster than 911 for sure) and friends/family know they are safe in my home.

I don't think they were planning anything lethal, just trolling around and found someone to mess with to elevate themselves. Typical bully ****.

I hurt someone's feelings once; but he lived. Multiple shots fired on both sides, I got off four with two solid hits, he got convicted- multiple felonies and currently serving a 52 year of which he must do a mandatory 80% sentence before possibility of parole.

Dude will be 62 before he has a chance of parole; I've already made a number of videos to be played at any potential parole hearings; in case I expire before he does. That mother ****er is never getting out.
