    80% handgun build Register!

    hi everyone,

I am trying to see how people reacting to the recent group buy 80% handgun build (G17, G43 and P320). After you're completed, how many of us want to register?

How do you register a California "unsafe" gun? Are you going to complete it as a single shot bolt/top break gun?

      Playing off that...

Given CA DOJ BOF track record on dealing with people trying to register assault weapons that are ineligible for registration, are you willing to risk trying to register an unsafe semi-auto pistol?

If it were me, I would think the SS bolt action would be the correct route, i.e. most likely to succeed.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Unless you built it in 2016 and have proof I'd leave it single shot. Then registering it is fine.

But if you want to make it semi and you built afterwards... well you're rolling the dice. The DOJ will come banging down your door if you messed up somewhere down the line.

If you can prove you owned it before handgun registration began that's one thing, otherwise how wise do you think it is to own an unregistered or unserialized handgun in California?

Owning an unregistered handgun is CA legal.

Possessing an unregistered firearm during a crime is a sentence enhancer.
              ^Makes misdemeanors into felonies.

CA handgun registration started on 01-01-1924.
^When DROS of a handgun registered it with CA DOJ.

Starting 01-01-2019, owning an unserialized firearm will not be legal.
^It would violate CA home built firearm laws.
~Exemptions for antique and C&R firearms.

                  Move out of state quickly?

                  I know it’s not helpful.
