    Quick PPT question.

Can I transfer an AR15 without the stock? It'll have the bullet button and shark fin wrap but no stock. Thanks

Yes. As long as it doesn't have any prohibiting features.

Ask in ffl forum. No because it violates firearm length laws . It can be fired without stock. Measure it and let us know .

...but not without the buffer tube. With the buffer tube it's legal length. Without the buffer tube it can't be fired.

^^^ Yes you can fire without buffer tube. Stupid thing to say. If you close bolt and chamber round and fire it. It will fire once and the bolt will fly out the back and knock the teeth out of the idiot that pulled the trigger. One shot need for a dentist. You can cock the hammer by opening the action then close and push bolt to chamber round and it go into battery and will fire.

You can also take the upper off, chamber a round, put a screwdriver on the back of the firing pin and hit it with a rock.
How silly are you wanting to get?

                Per CA DOJ BOF...
As long as the firearm can discharge a cartridge, then that configuration counts. Even if it is unsafe to do so and/or doing so damages the firearm.
^This is consistent with CA case laws involving SBR (rifle with shoulder stock removed, resulting in OAL of less than 26").

On the AR15 system, the lower receiver is the firearm.
Can't chamber a cartridge on a lower receiver by itself, therefore overall length issues does not matter on a lower receiver.

Seperate the upper receiver from the lower receiver.

Lower receiver is transferred through the FFL dealer and can be legally configured in any manner (that does not violate the NFA).

Upper receiver can be transferred direct to the transferee, no FFL needed.
