    manufacturing vs. assembly California

    under CA. Penal Code 30600 PC manufacturing a assault weapon, their is NO legal term for manufacturing so what would be the legal defense??

    You need PC 29180
    29180.

    (a) For purposes of this chapter, “manufacturing” or “assembling” a firearm means to fabricate or construct a firearm, or to fit together the component parts of a firearm to construct a firearm.
    Different Code chapter, but I think that's what the prosecution would argue.

        That's a pretty broad brush. An overzealous DA could interpret that as pinning an upper on a lower. I guess they like it that way though.

          Yes, new this year - "(Amended by Stats. 2017, Ch. 561, Sec. 200. (AB 1516) Effective January 1, 2018.)"
