compression springs for ar500 target hangers?

Where can I find 1/2" diameter compression spring like in the picture? Anything 1.25 inch or long would do. Hopefully 3" in length or under. I'm adding some full size IDPA ar500 targets and am making some of these t-post hangers just like in the photo.

Try an HVAC company- central a/c units commonly use 1" ID springs between 1-1/2 and 2" long as suspension springs for the compressors.

Is it the size of spring the strike-out stores don't have in stock? I've picked up large springs from Home Depot and Lowes before, one for an extension spring gate return and the other was a compression spring for some other widget I was working on. I also picked up a spring assortment for a go-kart pedal return spring and carburetor return spring.

Also check Auto Zone/Pepboys stores for carburetor return springs, brake springs, etc.

How about some valve springs? Probably any mechanic has a box of them he'd like to get rid of.

Another option might be thick walled rubber hose. That’s cheap and plentiful at all hardware stores.

I have similar set up. I use an old buffer spring. Cut into 2. Works great.
