    Lucas Oil Products

I just bought some Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Oil and Extreme Duty Gun Grease and tried them out on my SIG P239 carry gun. I'm extremely impressed! My trigger and slide have never felt smoother.

Has anyone tried any of their other gun products like the CLP, the Bore Solvent, or the Contact Cleaner? If they're good, I'm ready to go "all Lucas."

a friend gave me a tube of the grease. not sure if he got it as part of a promotional...
seems to work fine, but i am not a fancy grease guy so i am no expert.

i've used penn reel lube for years because a) i had it, and b) i can't think of any part of my gun that is going to see harsher treatment than the internals of a salt water fishing reel.
personally i think any decent grade lubricant is fine if it stays where you need it, if it needs it.

The key is to use oil and grease. I fix guns often and lack of lubrication is often the culprit. Some folks clean a gun and think they are done. All moving metal parts need lubrication. I use too much but that is better than not enough.

Wow! Lucas actually makes something worth buying?

I sure as hell would never put any of their crap in my car.

Come on now every British car or motorcycle owner should have a few Lucas smoke replacement kits, best thing since sliced bread.

Lucas in England is the King of Darkness. Maybe it's their blinker fluid you're thinking of.

I found the Extreme Duty Gun Oil while checking out at O'Reilly Auto Parts Last week.

The comments about the Lucas Electrics reminds me of when I was much younger and had bought an '67 Alfa Spyder to fix up. The dealer also sold Triumph and MG and others at their several locations. I was picking up some electrical parts and complaining to the parts guy about the lousy Italian electrical system. He said "Kid, be happy. At least you didn't buy an English car".
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

This is great! I just bought some a couple hours ago. I had seen this in orileys for about a month and finally decided to try it. It will be interesting to see how it fairs. I am going to some private land this week and will be putting the AR thru its paces. Wish me luck anyway.

I use the standard oil stabilizer. Works great, and makes my slides feel like bearings, little goes a lonnnnnggggg ways. I use Mostly on my handgunrails and piston rings and or Pistons on on my shotguns or ar bolts and buffers also springs. However any paints or finishing on a firearm usually results in a polished look after a while. For my actions and trigger groups I use a more viscous gun oil like hoppes or balistal.

It's just what I have on hand.

Okay, in addition to the Extreme Duty Gun Oil and Grease, I’ve now tried the CLP, the Bore Solvent, and the Contact Cleaner. All of them are great. I shot over 500 rounds this week with my SP-01 Production gun and it ran like a champ. I even used the CLP and gun grease on my Dillon 650 yesterday during a caliber change and both of them worked great.

I’m officially on the Lucas bandwagon now.
