    California AR/AK

What would be the going rate for a California legal AR and AK? Not looking for frills, just a standard rifle with a Mosterman Grip or Bullet Button.

AK of any kind starts a little under 1K

Beater AR starts around 1K and heads up quickly.

      Thank you Mr Obama.

You have done more to control guns than any of your predecessors by threatening us gun owners thus driving up the cost by X2 or X3 and in some instances X4 what it was before you became president.

I expect as long as prices are high and business is good there will be no ban. I prices start to fall then I expect the ban talk, and maybe even a ban, to come back.

People didn't fully realize the threat that the big O posed to our 2A.... so now they're paying for it (literally)

Super Premium Guns haven't gone up as much as the low end stuff... you're better off buying a colt or a milled AK as they are closer to the pre craze prices, steer clear of the lower end stuff. going 'cheap' right now is not a good idea.

Yikes... One grand... I remember about 7 months back seeing an some nice AK variants going for $650.

As for a ban, it is always possible but not too likely right now. The House is too preoccupied with the Economic meltdown and Iraq/Afghanistan to have another AWB high on their list of priorities.

          But I could be wrong.

a year and a half ago or so you could get a really nice Rommy G built on a Nodak for 250-350

            things cost what they cost...

I checked into it last night and to get a non WASR AK, you're looking at about 1200 bucks right now.

I just checked some prices too. I didn't believe you when you posted that number. All the big boys are sold out! This is crazy. Tenpercent was right when he was telling everyone nothing will be available right after the election. I guess Obama is the Greatest AK 47 salesman ever.

He hasn't done that well for large wheelguns, but he's definitely helped the semi auto sales.

If you're looking for a high end AK and have 3K to spend, I heard a rumor about a REALLY interesting one that's going to be up for sale soon that I can pass along (drop me a PM)

At the Del Mar show Cold War Shooters looked like they were selling cheap AK clones starting at $499.

                    Anyone know what they were?

I just picked up a brand-new Saiga 7.62x39 for $500 shipped. That's a lot more than they used to be, but "deals" are still out there.

Gunbroker, just search through the auctions. I found a few .223 with a buy it now of $429, but $475 was the best I found for a 7.62.
