    Question about PPT...

If I did a PPT for a rifle at the Turners in Orange County, would they transfer it to another store for pickup during the 10 day wait?

I am the buyer and I don't want to have to drive all the way back down to the OC a 2nd time to pick up my rifle.

    Thanks.

Consignment? No. Used in store? Yes but after 30 days.

EDIT: Sorry. I was thinking purchasing from the store. However I don't think you can transfer as the store uses a specific number identifying them as an FFL to transfer the gun. Changing stores midway through your DROS IMO would be a no go. I say this as I DROSED a handgun at turners quite some time ago. The person who did the DROS used his store number from the location he was at previously. That caused a cancellation in my dros and I had to start over. Turners paid for the mistake, but it took me a month to get that handgun from the initial DROS.

Sounds like no. Which was my guess.

It's actually a guy on Armslist selling an AR. He wants to meet at Turners in Orange County to do the transfer. If I have to drive all the way down there twice, it's just not worth it. It's about a 1.5 hour drive each way. If I'm lucky. So that means 6 hours driving if I have to go twice.

You're point would be golden if it we could have them transferred, but I seriously doubt it.

No, two trips to the same FFL are required. PC is specific that the same FFL takes possession and delivers.

Thanks man. I searched and couldn't find anything. I thought it was really unlikely. Trying to think outside the box. Looks like a no buy from me.

Thanks again for all the help guys and gals.

Even if they could I couldn't see a FFL especially Turners going out of their way to help someone on a PPT more than required in the vast majority of cases.

Doesn't apply in your case but if doing a PPT at a gun show through Ammo Brothers they did/do ask you what store you want to pick it up at. According to a DOJ opinion a guy I know got before a FFL is required to process PPT at gun shows if processing their own DROSes at show.

Take it elsewhere. Anywhere but Turners.

6 hours of driving PLUS an hour at least at a Turners to get to the point when you can fill out the PPT and then another hour to wait till you can pickup. Turners is awful for transfer's IMO... they take forever.

Only gun I drove that much for was my HK P7M8... went down to North San Diego from santa clarita, got a great deal on a beautiful shooting piece though.
