Can i still legally transfer this? What about list on gunbroker and transfer out of state?
Starting 01-01-2000, it is illegal (felony) to import, make, transport, advertise for sale, transfer, or possess an assault weapon in CA.

Starting 01-01-2017, a semi-auto pistol with a "bullet button" style magazine lock that accepts magazines outside of the pistol's grip is an assault weapon.
^If you legally acquired this from 2001-2016, then you are granted an exemption for possessing it until 07-01-2018. This exemption is for possession only and does not grant you an exemption for advertising it for sale or transfer while in CA.

Therefore, in order to be able to legally possess it after 06-30-2018, you must do one of the following before 07-01-2018:
    A. Register it as an assault weapon.
    B. Make it into a semi-auto pistol with a fixed 10 round magazine.
    C. Make it into a manually operated pistol.
    D. Make it into a manaully operated single-shot pistol.
    E. Disassemble it into parts.

Performing options B, C, D, or E makes the firearm CA legal to advertise for sale and transfer.

AR/AK pistols are not nearly as desirable now as they once were - the only way to transfer and keep the ones purchased after the new ban went into effect is to use new magazine locks. Pistols can't be featureless.

If I didn't have one from before, I wouldn't buy one now. The state has indeed managed to kill the joy of AR/AK pistols...

The new mag locks where you just pull the rear pin doesn't seem the worst of the choices we have... No registration and the rest of the features stay.

IMO it seems like the best choice for any AR platform until the day I can move.

OP, with all due respect, that Vulcan polymer lower would be worth just north of nothing here in the free states. Sorry, is what it is. Best to comply however you have to do that, and keep it. Or sell off the upper on the Internet and squirrel away the stripped lower for a rainy day. JMO.

Vulcan; set out to be a firearms manufacturer, but by explosive epiphany, realized what an ingenious talent they had for building grenades.

Don't forget all their corporate restructuring and name changes, in order to run away from lawsuits and continue to sell to those not aware of their bad out-of-spec products.

                          Hesse -> Vulcan -> Blackthorne

Yes i do....i hate this polymer platform id rather just engrave my 80% with its serial and throw this in the trash lol

the only real value in this IMO is that damn SSE registration that lets me do BBRAW.

i will NOT DO FIXED MAG...not an option. id rather throw them into the lake....
