Wife & I have been wanting to leave CA. We've lived here nearly all our lives but can't stand it anymore.
The company I work for opened a new facility in Tennessee a couple years ago and that got us talking seriously. Then I went there in summer. Nope, I don't do humidity.
Now we've opened a new facility in Bullhead City, AZ. Quite often the hottest city in the Nation (but it's a dry heat, lol).
We've looked at homes and have been chomping at the bit to git outta CA.
Well work just called and asked when I want to go! They know we have some things to wrap-up before we move, mostly I've been waiting for work to give the green light.
So now the logistical nightmare begins.
Daughter graduates high school May 31st.
We've looked at homes and are on pretty much the same page.
We currently rent, and are a month and a half ahead on rent, so between that and first house payment delayed 90 days we should be able to avoid paying both at once.
Then picking which home and waiting to close on it.
Then packing and moving and unpacking. Plus moving horses (no more boarding fees).
Two of our kids are not coming with us (adult, still at home), two others are coming.
But in a few short, hot months we'll be rid of our once great State.
When I graduated high school I moved to AZ for trade school and stayed for 10 years, so I feel like I'm going home.
No more roster or featureless bs. No mag capacity bs. I already have my AZ CCW so I walk in, pay, walk out with new gun.
So the new adventure begins.
