    Lip inside 9mm brass???

I am cleaning brass and just noticed this. Why is the brass thicker and have a lip??? I have picked up brass from Piru and Prado so I am not sure which range it is from.

Its maxxtech brass (per the headstamp) the shoulder is where the projectile sits when they load them at the factory.
Some other headstamps will have a visible dotted line, same effect but are reloadable.

Haven't come across that headstamp, but CBC headstamped brass is similar. It will reload. It wont chamber reliably in any of my guns and that's after it been resized twice. Once through a push through die and again on the press with the size/decap die.

Maxxtech it's own deal, my dad bought some (round container with like 250 rounds in it)
As far as I know CBC is primarily Magtech, I've found it to be good ammo and reloadable.
With any of it you just need to watch out for the solid shoulder no matter what headstamp (I've only ever seen it on maxxtech)

                That brass can be reloaded.
Keep the charge on the lower end of the power factor/FPS
And use a shorter 115grn or 124grn bullet along with a longer OAL if you are concerned about seating depth.

These will be GTG in most pistols.

DO NOT USE THEM IN A PISTOL CALIBER CARBINE CHAMBER.

The brass will usually separate at the shoulder because of the higher pressures that happen in the longer carbine barrel.

Freedom uses stepped brass on all of their reloads too. Some say it's ok to reload others say it's not worth it

                  I've got a **** ton I'll probably never touch.

I have come across a few of these, I would not reload them myself.
                    Just not worth it.
