    Screw Amazon

Tried to order a Primary Arms 5x red dot from PA's Amazon storefront (shipping is free, unlike Primary Arms website). Except they won't ship to California. Weird, because I had no problem shipping riflescopes to California (I just tried again with a different scope, and it would work.)

"Sorry, this item can't be shipped to your selected address. Learn more. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order."

Of course, not surprising from Jeff Bezos's outfit.

Seems its only certain scopes and its marked as "Shipped and Sold by Primary Arms."

Edit: but yea, probably should be in OT.

Their chat customer support blamed Primary Arms. We'll see what PA says...

You can call them and most of the time they will override that because it is a blanket stop someone put on the item. They do that regularly for bugasalt guns.

Called PA's customer service and they said that they're categorized as an assault weapon under Amazon's policy and they've been having a lot of problems with it.

I've had that happen several times with Amazon. I change address from PO box to street and it shipped.

Just ordered a scope from Amazon without issue. It might be sold by a third party that has dumb rules

Ordered from Optics Planet for $276 and a $40 gift card. Still, pretty annoying of Amazon.

A red dot optic is an assault weapon? Does that mean the optic can hold 30 rounds of ammo and shoots a full clipazine in half a second?

I wonder if they would think it's ludicrous to categorize a tire iron as a vehicle and require it be registered by the DMV and require liability insurance before using one on a public road.

Why not just support primary arms directly? You save what, 5 dollars on shipping? They ship super fast too. Screw amazon.

Was there some new Ca Law put into place? That is really strange. I got the same message a month ago when I was trying to order a can of Butane for my little work torch lighter. It turned out that because of all the dope heads using butane to make dope, California put restrictions on online purchases of the stuff. But... I was able to order it through eBay with no issue at all. You can go to Primary arms and just pay the extra shipping or you can go look on eBay and see if they have the same deal on the same item, they may not have the same shipping restriction.

^^ This. Typically there are other options. I don't blame Amazon. I blame California. I just recently tried ordering upholstery adhesive and this is what is listed under "Product Features"
Delivery to California is not available. Shipping by ground transport only.

Not just firearms restrictions but environmental as well.

I just went on ebay and ordered from automotive shop and received the package without issue from UPS a couple days ago.
Stop calling them Lawmakers. It only encourages them.

Not the point--I ended up getting a great deal from Optics Planet (which I've never had problems with, unlike many). Amazon's bizarre anti-2A restrictions are my problem.

2761377 is right--there's free shipping on PA, I missed it since the default option was FedEx ground.
