Picked up a M&P shield and wonder if it is illegal to remove the loaded chamber indicator and magazine safety disconnect?

Yes and some caution-
Legal to remove mag disconnect and LCI
If you have an CCW/ CHL, many issuing agencies will not allow mods so the gun could not be on your license.
Should you have an ND or someone gets your gun and has an ND and you removed safety features... does that increase-
Odds of being prosecuted?
Odds of a successful civil lawsuit?
Odds of a criminal conviction?
Maybe...Last edited by hermosabeach; 03-24-2018, 11:09 AM.Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

No, it’s not illegal. It’s your gun, do what you want with it, but don’t add a threaded barrel. Those are a no no in CA.
APEX makes both a low profile loaded chamber indicator, and also just a block for the hole. I’ve YouTubed how to remove the mag disconnect and it looks very easy, especially if you don’t feel need to keep the internal take down lever. Disabling the thumb safety looks like it requires some grinding.sigpic

Its not illegal. I removed mine from the sheild i owned, however before it was sold i put it back to factory specs. If you sell it at very least cation the potential buyer it has been removed.Comment
