The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

While I would not reveal any personal information about the guy, not even his real-life name (unless he was an outright thief or put forth an outright scam) leaving negative feedback and revealing his Calguns user name is more than enough.
So, what's his Calguns name?

Originally posted by gordon freemanOK, I found this thread while trying to reciprocate the Seller's neutral feedback. One needs to link the listing in order to post feedback. So, I searched threads started by the Seller and ran across the Seller's attempt to cyber-lynch me
I'll bite and respond.

I feel that if you say "ill take it" you should go through with the deal unless something was misrepresented or something along those lines. Backing out of a deal just because you change your mind shows a lack of character imo.Comment

Stuff happens, we're human, doesn't mean they have questionable character. Recently someone paypal'd me $950 for a rifle and I had his dealer's ffl. But the purchaser had second thoughts. I had no problem giving him a refund. Should I have been a hard *** and made him buy the rifle?Last edited by chickenfried; 03-22-2009, 4:24 PM.Originally posted by victor1echoHollywood is satan!!!!Comment

For my part- and putting aside the 'cyber lynching' comment I'd like to bury this particular hatchet, and right now.
As I said a few postings ago I am still willing to transact with you or anyone willing to step up. In my humble opinion I have and I do. I offer as evidence both my long tenure here at CalGuns since 2006 and attendant feedback reflected in multiple successful transactions with other members both as buyer and seller. For some reason this transaction went differently.
Be that as it may let this be the end of our troubles as fellow members. There isn't any acrimony on my part and there never was. Just the resultant confusion brought about by poor communication- either on my part or on yours. Fair ?
Any other particulars[ should there be any] between us would probably best be handled in PM.
I'm sorry things didn't work out this time, good luck in any case here at CalGuns. There are some truly great guys here, I know, I've met many of them. And some great deals too every now and again. This is a good place for shooters in Cali to be.
Have fun, shoot safe, we'll try 'er again further on down the line.

Keys to the Successful CalGuns Transaction
Here's what I've learned doing transactions here since 2006. Your experiences may differ but these have worked for me.
Once the price has been agreed to and the negotiation is over,
1. Both parties should provide complete contact information- cell ph#, email etc. While none of us like sacrificing our annonymoty, complete contact information goes a long way toward insure that the deal stays on track.
2. Respond to communications quickly and completly. Nothing will send a deal south faster than abreviated, truncated or incomplete messages.
3. Pack well, ship fast, maintain shipping receipts. This speaks for itself.
4. Be responsive to the other guy. Everybody has a plate that's too full. Everybody has things that come up which complicate our lives. Being responsive to the other guy goes a long way toward solving problems when they occur, and making a deal headed south, not.
I guess all of this falls under the general heading of good communication, but there it is- there's just no substitute for it.Last edited by Electric Factory; 03-22-2009, 5:45 PM.Comment
