    All in with 223

In five years of shooting i have never shot past 100 yards.I do not hunt. At 70 my eyes require a scope to hit anything at 100 yards. So i sold almost all my ww 2 military rifles.
I now reload 223 so i will have a life long supply of ammo no matter what CA does in the future. I concluded it was a waste to shoot .50c- .98c bullets to hit paper at 100 yards.
Mini 14 for just having fun
    S&W 15 just because i still can
Savage bolt in 223 to shoot sub MOA with a 400 dollar rifle.

If that works for you I say great.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

      I have 4 bolt action 223 rifles.
      They are fun to shoot.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Good round, easy to load, pretty standard, works in a few different platforms. I say good job.

I only have .308 for the occasional hunt but mostly .223/556 since that's what I shot in the military.

That's great. Wish I had the discipline to stick to 1 caliber. There is just another feeling that comes with shooting a .30 cal rifle round tho
God may have made men, but Samuel Colt made them equal.

Send me pics of your: Colt Detective Special, AMT Hardballer, pre-64 Winchester Model 70. I'm looking for them.

Damn man it sucks getting old. I'll be you in 20 years. I'm still buying guns, but I've started thinking about the fact that at some point soon, I'll have to start selling them.

Nothin wrong with that. Heck, you can even rid yourself of the mini 14 and still have a good pair.

Why not use a scope though? Malaysian 308 ammo for 40 cents a round ain't bad.

Many fine rifles are now made in .223. I got my 65 year old eyes on a Henry Long Ranger, I just wish I could find one around here to check out.

Bolt action 223 rifles while good shooters get boring pretty fast. A 308 or a 243 punches a nice big hole and I find the 30 caliber bore easier to clean.

                              All in...

                              How about "Always"...

                              Always be buying ammo.

                              Always be shooting.

Always have a pistol in .45ACP and always have a rifle in .308 or .30-06 and always have a 12 gauge shotgun.

Of course one may enjoy everything else under the sun, but these are the basics of defense!

That said, .223/5.56 is a pleasant thing for plinkin'.
