    Gun Control Brazilian Style

This is how restrictive gun control is not working in Brazil

If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

i have posted this link several times

Though gun violence takes a huge toll in Brazil, there's a push to relax gun laws. And many of the arguments are similar to the ones in the U.S.

      and this one

discontent with current restrictions has been brewing for some time, considering gangs control entire communities and towns, and outgun the police.

when idiots try to compare foreign gun laws with ours, they should be forced to acknowledge that existing gun distribution among criminals and gangs in the US is much closer to Brazil than Australia, the UK or Japan.

What shock ! Gun bans have the most effect on those who obey laws ! Wow who could have predicted criminals would prey on those unable to fight back !

The article is correct. Gun violence will rise if they allow law abiding citizens to buy and carry guns. The criminals will be killed off exponentially in the beginning, driving that stat up.

I think over time, the criminals will gain a respect for armed citizens and we’ll see the gun violence stats of Brazil nose-dive

This is the problrem with anti-gunners who cite australia, england, etc. when they try to provide examples of gun bans working.

Ya, of course when you ban guns in a country that already didn't have that many guns or criminals, you'll have a lower number of gun crimes after a gun ban.

But try banning guns in America, where there is a huge crime problem and at least 300 million guns in circulation (600 million, by some estimates), and what you're going to end up with is something like Brazil. This is what they either fail to understand, or understand but completely disregard.

Gun crime would NOT go down in America after a gun ban, it would absolutely, unarguably, go substantially UP if there was a gun ban. Criminals would have zero fear of getting shot in a robbery or rape gone bad.

Australia and UK have lower gun crime ONLY because their culture doesn't generate as many criminals. Our culture, on the other hand, of coddling and forgiving criminals and giving them government assistance when they screw up, is why we have huge gun crime problems. Why can't they get that through their thick skulls?

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

They actually don't care about gun crimes or reducing gun violence. It is merely a ruse to consolidate power. They are not reasonable people to begin with.
