No metal detectors last time I was there. But they do have bag checks.

I was there in December, no metal detectors or wands. They did search bags.

Why not check the Sea World web site?

Planning a trip to SeaWorld San Diego? From parking, to annual passes & more, our FAQs are here to help you plan your SeaWorld San Diego trip!

SeaWorld San Diego has increased security procedures, which may result in slight delays while entering the park. As a part of this process:

All bags, backpacks, and packages are subject to inspection prior to entering the park
As a reminder, the following items are not permitted to be brought into SeaWorld for the safety of our animals and our guests: weapons, knives, any other type of sharp objects, straws, large hard or soft coolers, drones, two-wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicles, and any hazardous items or materials.
SeaWorld does not provide storage for luggage or large items that do not fit inside lockers. Many area hotels provide concierge services to store luggage.
Please leave any unnecessary articles secured within your vehicle to expedite your entry into the park.
SeaWorld is not responsible for fire, theft, damage or loss of vehicle including articles left within.
I don't know about California, but here in Oregon I must observe all posted prohibitions about guns/weapons. Violating a posted sign is grounds to lose my license.

Asking you to leave is NOT the worst that can happen.

Approve of CCW. Disapprove of CCW at an amusement park. Very mall ninja.
