Selling out of state

So I have a Kriss Vector Gen 2 45ACP rifle and want to sell it. It was purchase before all these nonsense BB laws came to be. From what I understand if I want to sell it here in California I would have to pin the stock and put a thumb blocker on the grip, basically make it featureless. What about selling out of state, do I ha e to use an FFL here in California or I ship it to the buyers FFL? What steps should I take in making sure everything is done by the books?

Ship direct to buyers ffl. Use search lots of posts on this.

Before you even post an ad on gunbroker, make sure you clearly state: "Your receiving FFL must accept a shipment from a private party out of state". Folks on gunbroker are very different kind all around and will have a short fuse if little thing wasn't explained upfront.
So yes, post an ad and ship your gun after you talk to that FFL in another state. He will tell you what to include in the shipment. A color copy of your driver's license will do. When you ship by UPS if asked say "a sporting equipment". Do not say gun. Also, check out www.shipmygun.com
