    Dissipator Barrel Suggestions

Was looking to do a dissipator,

I don't want one with pre-pinned FSB or w/ a rifle length gas port so Delton and Faxon are not on the table. (and not sure if either of those are .750 diameter FSBs)

I was thinking DD 16" mid but wasn't sure if the diameter would be .750 out that far towards the crown/muzzel threads. It looks like it steps down:

Our 16” 5.56 barrel is the most accurate and longest lasting barrel attainable for your AR-15 build.  We Cold Hammer Forge our barrels, a process that sets us apart from other barrel manufacturers.  The 16” Government profile barrel is forged from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel, Mil-spec heavy phosphate coated and chrome lined with mid-length gas system.

Was searching for something like this: continuously .750 to the crown or threads to clamp or pin a FSB at rifle length w/ a mid/car length gas system:

Just checked a Mid DD 16'' of mine turns out it is a hair narrower than .750 out that far.. darn

    Thanks for any leads!

I thought dissipator generally meant a 16" barrel with rifle length gas.

Since you said you don't want rifle length gas, does that mean you just want a standard barrel?

      it normally does..

but I was looking for a setup w/ 12 inch free float rail w/ Clamp .750 FSB in rifle location, mid or car length low pro block under rail.

Just may have to settle for the DEL-TON w/ rifle length gas it has the .750 out that far. It seems cheap though..

I just dont know about the 12" gas system with 16" barrel it seem pushing it.. maybe its all good.

Found these Guys maybe Ill just go this rout

A tech at rainer was saying it is possible to turn down a wider diameter barrel to make it work but, its uncommon to find basicaly two .750 seats one for the block and one for the FSP.. barrels are not typically .750 all the way to the threads..

well w.e prolly not gonna find one w/ two seats like that..

          That's correct.
There are very few properly made dissipator barrels (two gas block seats) on the market.
CMMG used to sell a multi-purpose M10 barrel with 0.750" gas block seats at carbine, midlength and rifle locations.
They would sell you one without a gas port too if you asked nicely.

What I do for most dissipator builds is turn a 0.625" gas block seat at the rifle location and leave the front of the barrel as a lightweight contour.

I can also start with a bull barrel and turn it down to end up with two 0.750" gas block seats.
You can do really neat stuff if you build a barrel specifically to use a clamp-on gas block.

That's in integrated suppressor mount machined right into the barrel.
The large diameter out in front of the gas block is only possible by the use of a 2 piece gas block.

            No.
A proper Dissipator barrel has a low profile gas block at carbine or midlength and then an A2 FSB at rifle position.
This is done to increase the dwell time over what you get when you make a 16" rifle gas system barrel while still allowing the use of a rifle length handguard.
The shorter gas system is much more reliable than a rifle gas system on a 16" barrel.
