Pocket carry guns for a Lady.

It has taken a while to get my Girl to carry, problem is that she doesn't like the Sheild and she really doesn't like the idea of carrying anything larger than the J frame revolver that i lent her.

She wears form fitting clothes, and pocket Carries the j frame- the revolver could conceal better, but I'm thinking maybe she needs something smaller ( because it would fit her way of dressing better ).

    I don't really know what's out there ( because the smallest I'll carry would be j-frame or Glocks ) - but I'm thinking about a Sig 238 ( 380 ).

    The concern that i have is ;

    1) She is not knowledgeable about firearms, and may not do proper maintenance / care on what she's carrying.

    2) Sig quality / reliability

    3) Single action on the 238 pistol

So, i would like opinions on the sig 238 - and any other reliable pistols, maybe i just need to convince her to work with the j-frame 38.

It's a work in progress, but I'm willing to take the time to work with her.

    Thank you

Would a glock 26 be too big. 38sp is a good round.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
    Happiness is a warm gun.

It tough getting smaller that a J & with the reliability & ease of use.

Auto's are nice but they have drawbacks, more so for newbs.

I have 6 on my permit, but it's the J that comes with me EDC.

I say take here to rent a bunch of small firearms, see what she can deal with.

If she will not reliably maintain the firearm I woul stick with a j frame 38.
        Or a derringer

          LCP, they’re tiny...

I'm a J fan but I'll go old school and bring up the Colt Police Positive 38 S&W.

Seriously, the Colt PP is thin and light and a revolver. Put some fancy grips on it if you/she wants. Form fit a dress for an inner thigh holster. Get some thongs to chop for a prototype and work on the perfect fit. I think you will figure it out.

Can't be worse than high heels!

Personally I would stick with a J frame or LCR. The P238 is a great gun but if she isn't really gun savvy carrying cocked and locked is a bad idea.

Also the Baby Browning and the Colt pocket. can't think of any other high quality small pistols but I am sure they are out there.

I have both the sig p238 and a Ruger LCP. 90% of the time I pocket carry the LCP. The SIg is an awesome gun and at the range I prefer it, but for banging around in my pocket I usually choose the LCP.

A little snubby with a concealed hammer should work, add on a laser grip and she'd be set rather nicely

LC380 Ruger is the perfect introductory gun.

                              This.

With that said, if she's not crazy about guns and doesn't really want to carry, don't push the issue.
