    Handgun question

So I have a pistol and it's has a hand grip in front of the pistol grip. The pistol grip also holds the mag. If I remove the hand grip, can I take off the bullet button also? The barrel is not threaded either.

The primary problem with AR pistols is that they accept magazine outside the pistol grip, which is a "feature," so they cannot be featureless and must have whatever the latest incarnation of the "fixed magazine" is.

In your case, if your pistol accepts magazines through its grip, you've removed one feature. Are there any other features?

Best to tell us what gun you're talking about...

Does it have a shrouded barrel? That is also an eviiiil feature. We really need to know what pistol you're talking about.

It doesn’t have a slide so that part around the barrel is a shroud, a feature. That’s my guess, I don’t own one.

Someone with more detailed info should confirm this.

Looks like a barrel shroud and a shoulder up thing. Might even be high caliber capacity full semi-automatic. OP you should probably just cut it in half and save yourself the trouble.

                        Yes.
In that configuration, the semi-auto pistol no longer has any features that would define it as an assault weapon.

If the forward "grip" is just the normal forend, you can put that back on too.

Only if the semi-auto pistol has a fixed magazine.

A second handgrip is a restricted feature on semi-auto pistols that do not have a fixed magazine. [PC 30515(a)(4)(B)]

A second handgrip is any secondary gripping surface that can be utilized by the non-shooting hand.
^This covers all angled, horiztonal, and vertical grips.
