Sacramento Hookup for Off List Lower Receivers!

Since I am not an FFL and sell only parts and accessories I had just as hard a time finding a local FFL and source for Off List Lowers as everybody else at first. I've used the same guy for a couple of years now. I see lots of posts for people asking where to get them, and typing up the same email gets a little old after a while. So I figured where better to post it than on Calguns.net

There are other sources, and other local FFLs. So other members feel free to post how you get yours. These guys have worked well for me with the minimal amount of effort on my part. So they deserve the free advertising.

STEP 1: Order the lower from www.coldwarshooters.com. Last I checked 5.56/.223 models were running between $150-200 and .308 was about double that. I don't remember what they charges for AK receivers but last I checked they had them. They are always adding new brands of lowers as they become available. The hardest step is finding them...and these guys make that easy.

STEP 2: Tell them to ship it to SNELLINGS FIREARMS in Sacramento via the NOTES section during checkout. They have his FFL on file. Bob Snellings is OLL friendly and will not jerk you around.

STEP 3: Look up Bob Snellings, Snellings Firearms, Sacramento on Yahoo.com or Google.com and call him and confirm his hours are still 10am-2pm Mondays and Thursdays and use one of the online MAPS programs to get directions since his warehouse is kind of tricky to find without a map. If you have GPS in your car you're gonna wanna use it.

STEP 4: Bring $50 to cover the "he received it via UPS from out of state for you and he processed the DROS for you fee" which is about $25-$50 lower than a gun shop would charge you on your first visit to fill out the paperwork.

STEP 5: 10 days after you fill out the DROS paperwork pick it up from Bob.

You're done! You now have a California Legal

If this hookup works for you do me a favor and keep me in mind the next time you need an upper, or parts and accessories.

    Good luck!

CalArmory (John Buethe) is located in the Sacramento area, is a full-service FFL and currently has Anvil Arms lowers in stock.

If it's California-legal, he can order it for you. He's an honest, straightforward guy and, more often than not, charges less than most for his goods and services. He's also fully set-up for duracoat refinishing along with other general gunsmithing services.

+1 for John................. he had Anvil Ar Pistol lowers as well a while back.
he is in Camino & charges 35.00 total for the dros/fees. I ve done biz with him several times. I am in Sacramento but I dont mind the beautiful drive to his place in Camino right off of RT 50 by the Ranger Station. He may have some Ak kits & receivers.

My initial email to him took almost 5 days to get a response, just be patient, he's only gotten busier.
