?? rec. upper - long roundish handguard, about $800 ??

Hi, I'm used to a rra upper, its heavy and the handguard is sorta round. I think I like the roundness, at least on the bottom half. This upper weighs a ton. want to find out about something more lightweight, w/ a top rail, but hopefully keep the roundness on bottom. i think i want to have a long handguard covering most of barrel, w/ picatinny covering top. as for barel, no longer than 16", and want to stay light, but have heard m4 barrels are whippy, not to rigid, so not sure i want a m4. I was thinkin of getting something from bcm, as was thinkin something already put together as i'd like to keep screwin around w/ it to a min., and at least semi quality, but i'm not sure there kmr handguard is the answer. i'm all ears for differences or suggestions on this. like to save $, but wouldn't frown on 8 bills if had too. thanks

What type of shooting you gonna be doing? Tons of light weight rails now. Try matrix arms the 15in rail is like 65 at joeboboutfitters.

very good, shafferds, just viewed that one, thanks, looks like what i'm describing for likes, . don't do much shooting, but would say all purpose. obviously accuracy is a factor, but really wanna keep the weight down. if gotta shoot a squirrel at 200 yds, something else can be used. thanks

You need to research further. I am not sure but RRA might have their own thread pattern for the handguard.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I think there is some stuff about rra, that's not milspec. But Ii'm not looking to mess w/ the rr. looking for recommendation on a separate complete, upper. any suggestions wht to do w/ 5-700 dollars. I can then spend another hundred on the handguard shafferds pointed out
