some people care more for safe queens than actual shooting.

either that or all of his AR's were badly over gassed that the shells never hit the deflector.

all my ar's shoot to 3-5 o'clock area which is perfect gas to riding the line of short stroking.

I had a similar issue when I was ammo shopping. I was perusing the ammo section and noticed some 5.56 rounds had funny discolorations on the neck of each shell. I asked for a discount based on the poor aesthetics. The clerk told me he had to get the manager to authorize any discounts. After a few minutes, the manager appeared and told me it was something called "annealing". I wasn't buying it (literally or figuratively). I gave them a piece of my mind, left and will never shop there again.

Reminds me of a story about a guided hunting trip. Apparently the "client" in question had a reputation for trying to rip the guides off. On this particular occasion he wrote a letter to the state fish and game folks complaining about a cold toilet seat. He apparently practices the "other Golden Rule" (do unto others before they do unto you).

                  That discoloration is perfectly normal.

                        And rightly so!
Selling blemished ammo at full price and using made up terms like "annealing" (Puleeze) to cover up their laziness in not polishing each round before selling them.
