    Drone weaponry

Very impressive AI - With shaped charges.
Not long starts slow but a good watch -
How long do you think the cell run time can be with current technology?

That video was actually created to warn of the dangers of armed automation, and its only part of the whole video. Here's an article on it.

Urban legends are a poor basis for making public policy.

The comments to the article are amazing. Talk about fear... people are going to start wetting themselves just reading about it.

North Korea is developing nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles and people are worried about autonomous drones shooting .38 special. Get some perspective.
The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

because a nation firing off a nuke is something that doesn't happen often.

drones becoming armed and turned into a suicide killer is within the realm of possibility.

ISIS is already using off the shelf drones to drop grenades onto their enemies, so having a mass swarm of drones that are literally flying claymore mines wouldn't be too far fetched. use software to get them to fly in formation to a target area, spread the drones in a pattern and trigger them to blow.

in open space areas this would be devastating. imagine sports games with open roofs, 100 drones fly in, each packing 5lbs of c4 plus the needed shrapnel (screws, nails, ball bearings, etc) then explode in unison in a ring around the entire stadium.

would any one of you be willing to goto a sporting event after 2-3 attacks like this happen? or even goto any concerts, or marathons, parades, etc.

Cant happen in cailfornia cause you need a license to fly a drone!

Wellllll, sort of , you need a license to fly a commercial drone , you know the type you make money with ?

There is a difference , hobbyist bought it with their own money , amateurs have mommy and daddy pay for a new one.

Shaped charge on a tiny airborn device......hmmm....recoil can only be mitigated by speed times weight right.....the physics have me baffled....I have lightweight drones they are LIGHT.....so what mass at what velocity are we talking....like an 1/8" tip of a needle at 1000fps as the drone is doing 20mph with some kind of controlling AI directing a mass attack.....no way it can be a molten charge too much energy consumption....seems like some engineering advances are going to have to happen...

Physics and aerodynamics prevent drones from effective explosives/shrapnel delivery. Would not get much range or ammo capacity for projectiles. Best use would be for chemical weapons delivery.
