These are 3 of my favorite .45 acp pistols and it seems as though my oldest grandson likes the Kimber more than the other 2. I have carried that Kimber for a lot of miles and shot a large amount of ammo through it, she just keeps on running like a fine sewing machine. What are your favorite?

I shoot a kimber custom II more than any others. I can not even tell you the round count, it has been around a long time.
Now, this is the run of the mill plane Jane Kimber, the $700 and change type. It shoots as well if not better than any 3k or 4k 1911 that I have shot it side by side, and has never had a problem. Several other fancier ones and they all act the same.
I don't know why they got a bad rap.Comment

I think maybe it's because some of their barrels look like they were stored in a steam room. I've never seen one in person, but I've never seen a broken M1A extractor either.I shoot a kimber custom II more than any others. I can not even tell you the round count, it has been around a long time.

I really hate those front slide serrations and yeah my Kimber had them too !
My personal favorite is the one Im using at the time. i.e. for back country travel I like the Redhawk in 44mag. Bullets are 320grn devoped by Elmer Keith. MV is 1400fps
For free state carry, its whatever mood strikes me at the moment depending on how Im dressed.
A Walther PPK carried IWH works really good with a suit tailored 1 inch larger and belt loop altered to hold at strong side kidney area.
Of course some situations even in free states call for a 1911 in either a Milt Sparks or Kramer IWH.
In California a quick opening knife and tactical cane need to suffice. For a case where a firearm is required. Ive practiced the democrat tactic of begging to not be hurt!Comment

Ya I like Redhawks to, I usually carry them when I'm where things can hurt me and I don't have a rifle or shotgun in hand. Loaded up with close to a max load under a 300 gr. Sierra soft point. New holster rig.

I got rid of my 1911s....kept the CZ 97B "E" as my only 45acp.
It's a beast of a smooth shooter
