Respirators/full face gas mask when at the range

Just curious if anyone else has done this.

In some indoor ranges, I tend to get allergy attacks after awhile shooting beyond an hour or two. I typically cut my sessions short as soon as my eyes begin to dry out and I sneeze my balls off.

Do most ranges have any rules (spoken or unspoken) on using a respirator or gas mask during sessions? Would I just be that weird guy who shoots with a respirator?

I don't know the answer to your question....But you'd definitely be the wierd guy with a respirator. But who cares as long as your good to go and enjoying yourself. I don't see why you couldn't wear one it's not hurting anything.

Yes you would be the weird guy. It is the ventilation/lead system working. Cut your time short weirdo!

It's good to try one out, now as far as being at an indoor range , back in a stall, looking all Darth Vader may be a bit distracting to others lol

Try a dust mask.

Get a regular N95 mask. Helps with allergy and protects you from other particles like lead.

What range are you going to? They may need to get there ventilation checked. Also what are you allergic to? Do you have the same issues at other ranges? What happens when you shoot outside? To many questions need to be answered and yes you would look strange shooting with a gas mask. Might be asked to leave.

If your allergies are so debilitating that they're getting in the way of your life I highly recommend talking to your doctor about allergy shots. I started about 2 years ago, big difference.

The ceiling of any indoor range is enough reason to never shoot in an indoor range
