First off, Thats not a "pigeon grade". It's standard wood which has been carved by who knows who.. The engraving may be factory, but it's hard to tell. It's nowhere worth 15K. More like less than 2K maybe.
Check these links to see what real "Pigeon grade" wood looks like. Also check their prices...

I'm no expert but something is screwy. There is no way a pigeon grade gun comes with a corn cob forend. Also the engraving, while nice is not in the style I am familiar with for factory engraved model 12s but it could be my lack of knowledge. If you are asking if a high grade 28 gauge model 12 can be worth 15 grand, probably can.sigpicComment

The PG's I've seen all have nicely figured walnut on all the furniture. The corncob fore end makes me question it as well but I'm certainly no expert. Wood like that you normally see on garden variety stuff.
This is much more typical of what I would expect to see on an uber-expensive shotgun. This one went for $7K by the way.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.Comment

The model 12 you arelooking at ib way overpriced unless truman or eisenhower owned it.Comment
