    Going Through Man O Pause?

Damm, what's going on here? Used to be a compulsive buyer, especially in the pre roster days. Was all set to buy a JR PCC 9mm dual charger, but after watching guys shoot PCC, it doesn't look all that exciting.

Next thought was a CZ TS instead. Scratched that idea pretty quick, because I've already got a Witness thats practically the same gun. That's never been an excuse not to buy a gun before.

Plan C was to send a Marlin to Ranger Point Precision and get it converted to 40 S&W. Talked to him last year. Pulled up the website to get the phone number again and saw the price went up a grand since I talked to him. So much for Plan C, really only wanted to do it because I wouldn't worry about losing 40 brass.

Plan D is a Uberti Texas Brush Popper from Evil Roy. Its basically another lost brass reduction plan. Lol. Kind of been wanting a short stroked rifle, but now I find myself trying to talk myself out of it because I don't care for crescent butt plates all that much.

So, now I'm sitting here thinking WTF is wrong with me?

Getting old and becoming more practical with age. I have a hard time justifying stuff to myself. My wife usually says "go ahead and buy what you want" and I just won't buy stuff until I feel like I need it.

Nothing is wrong with you. I reached this point right about the end of 2013, coincidentally when registration of everything started. I have bought enough that are still in the box, that I just don't need my name on anymore lists, so I diverted all the Gun Money toward Ammunition, and now look where that's gone. I think you should just shoot what you got....As always, just my .02.

It's like with anything... once you get to the top (and everyone's "top," is relative) there is less room to grow.

Sounds like you might be ready / old enough to get into landscape photography.

Can you see yourself alone, wandering through deserts and mountains, wheeling up questionable trails, always on the lookout for the next comp, the perfect light?

Gear geek with lenses, camera bodies, carbon fiber tripod, bear spray and rain gear?

You’ve never lived till you have had the privilege of spending a few weeks alone out there. No phone, internet or squawking companion. No camp fires. Just quiet….

Ammo for the camera is lot more affordable. Reloading the memory cards takes no skill and you can shoot most anywhere, even in the national parks.

I shot my wife, and she liked it.

I sold a rifle to buy a scope, felt good about it. Thinking about adjusting the safe some more it is a bit crowded.

You've just hit the point of having enough guns so there's less joy in acquiring more. Your new joy in life will be to gift those guns to people that don't have enough guns yet and can't afford to buy them. I'll volunteer to help you out.

If you don't have any black powder guns yet, there's another direction to look. They're lots of fun and off-books. If you're local and want to try before you buy I have a few flavors.

Get into reloading. Work up the perfect round for each of your guns. That will kill a lot of time.
Or get a muzzleloader or two. The cheapest bang for your buck.

You don’t need to see professional help until you feel the urge to sell one of the firearms already in your safe. I think there are support groups, programs and medication that can help you get through that phase of the disease.

I hit the same point in my collection. For quite some time I was a member of the one a month club, stacking ppt's in the middle as well. I was talking with some friends the other day and that's when it really hit me, I haven't bought anything new in well over a year now. I still browse the sales forum daily and am at a LGS probably once a month but the desire isn't what it once was.
