    Optics make your safe shrink?

So last year I've been buying optics as their prices plummeted. Target scopes, tactical scopes, red dots with magnifiers, pistol red dot sights, etc.

Man, oh man. Now I'm having a hard time fitting all those scoped rifles back into the safe! The down side is that you cannot remove those optics or risk losing your zero. Clamp it on the wrong location along the rail and things change. I'm probably too anal to re-zero my scopes each time. Each rifle is in its own rifle sock. In many cases, I had to buy a few wider socks to accommodate the optics.

The handgun RDS is also not helping. Before RDS, you can attach 4-5 handguns sitting at an angle in a row on the safe door. Now, you can only have 3-4.

You guys having the same problem?

I went with QD mounts for all of my scopes. I pop a couple off some rifles and stow them on a shelf. It eases the crowding in the long gun area.

Yeah I noticed the same thing. Accessories off the side tend to use up a slot too.

idk bout prices plummeting.. tell us more. looks like the T2 and eo tech lines are just as expensive as ever. micro rmrs are still over 500 bucks..

I remove the bolts so I can get a little more lateral room.

This is the only solution, at least it's what I did. I am far to anal about my zero to be messing with QD and I didn't want to start bumping everything around trying to get it in or out. Or having more room was just an excuse to buy more guns.

I went to these. My storage issues for scoped rifles ceased immediately.
Kind of expensive but in reality the best thing Ive done for my gun collection in years.

I'll take them at 40% off - then you will have the money to buy a bigger safe.

Once you get a bigger safe and have more room I'll sell them back at my cost plus 15%..!! It's a win win for both of us...!!!

I have been buying bore stores. I can stack them in without the barrels and scopes not getting scratches.. some rifles are barrel down to for more.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
