    Blast Forwarding Device

    Guys

I was thinking of getting a muzzle brake for my AR, but I am not sure which one to get. In addition, I wanted to get the device or attachment that sends the sound blast away to the firing line.

Are these devices (Blast Forwarding Devices) legal in our state Featureless and or mag lock?
if so which one do any of you recommend?

http://midstatefirearms.com/Ar15-Lin...ator-md378.htm) on a .300blk Pistol and it seems to work great. Very reasonably priced also.

I put one of these on my 18" Wylde SPR build w/ a Miculek Compensator.

If I take the BFD off and use Surefire EP7 ear plugs with the caps open, shooting makes my ears ring. If I put the BFD back on, caps still open, shooting is pretty good. It does take away a little from the compensation though; I didn't try taking the comp all the way off to see how much.

No clue about legal or not, but I figure it's legal? Not a flash hider

The lantic dragon by itself is a great muzzle brake for featureless builds. They also make a blast mitigation device. As far as the "bmd" being a ca compliant device im not sure. From what i read it doesnt mention a reduction in flash, it does however have mention in the product description regarding redirecting the direction of muzzle blast/gas.

My Keneti-tech does that. It's a 3 slot brake with a removable sound sleeve. Works great.

Not putting a FH or MB on your rifle will do almost the same thing. Using a simple bloop tube will probably work better than any of the stupid tacticool things being marketed today.

I have Troy Claymore and others here. I love linear comps. The discontinued D-PMS Levang is the most effective I've used. I use one on my AR-22 and I can shoot that outdoors with no need for ear plugs nor cans. None of the others allow that.

Do you guys have any suggestions for more affordable options?

Sorry, not sorry, but $60-80 is a bit much to spend on a little piece of metal that only purpose to reduce the blast for the guy next to you (especially since a lot of the times the guy next to you has crazy amount of blast himself)

Looks like the Mid State Linear Comp or the SAA Dragons Head are the most affordable options. What else would you suggest on the more affordable side?
