First time since October. Many life and work commitments prevented me from doing so.
I went to a private range I am a member of and brought 400 rounds of 9, 50 of 380 and 250 in 223. I finished it all.
Biggest surprise, I can still shoot
Biggest let down, changing from a flash hider to a linear comp messed up my zero on my AR. Had to spend 45 minutes setting up a target and zeroing the rifle at 100.
Biggest win, hearing the wife say "you smell like gun powder, go take a shower!"
Keeping it simple, I set up 1 steel IPSC, two 8 inch plates , 1 paper target stand and 2 cardboard barriers.
Practiced shooting from draw, kneeling, sitting, standing, prone, and from cover. Today was my first time to practice drawing my 380 AMT pistol from an IWB holster and shooting it with two hands, and also with one hand from cover. I was surprised how well I shot that little bugger. 10 yards into an IPSC steel plate, not a problem. Rapid shooting with the Camp 9 was awesome. Finally figured out how to keep it reliable, by cleaning the mags, and keeping the bolt dry (no lube).
What a fun day.
