FFL that will accept ammo shipments

Del Valle Gunsmithing in Marina was my first maybe. “Probably next week” “haven’t figured out taxes and fees yet”. -

In Orange County, OnTarget Range. $5 if you're there when the ammo arrives, $25 if picked up within 3 days. (up to 1k rds. Fee goes up for more than that). They will also charge the mandated CA Sales tax.
You have to pre-inform them your ammo is arriving. If you don't do that and your ammo randomly arrives, there is a $75 penalty on top.
Considering the hoops they have to jump through to receive, document, store, process, tax and assume legal risk, I'd say the charges are not unreasonable considering the legal risk and logistics.Comment

Is sales tax mandated? What about ppt at vendor/ffl?Comment

I'm not sure if they still have it on their website, but the original version said they would charge sales tax on the full current retail price they charge, which seem like it would be unlawful since all they need to do is charge sales tax on the actual price.
Seems like it, especially if you can meet UPS/FedEx at the door.Considering the hoops they have to jump through to receive, document, store, process, tax and assume legal risk, I'd say the charges are not unreasonable considering the legal risk and logistics.Comment

I don't recall seeing that on their new Ammo Receiving contract. If that is true that would be very questionable practice. I don't think this is true.Comment

Technically we are supposed to be paying sales tax right now on all Internet purchases we make if the seller does not already collect it.
To my knowledge, the above is true.

Unlawful? Ah, but this is California. Our elected officials foist fee, levies and taxes with no basis of reason.
You've bought a cell phone, right? Discounted when you sign up for a 'plan'. But you pay tax on the full retail value, not the discounted amount.
Same here regarding interstate purchases. Why? `Cause the citizens passed Prop 13 and legislators have made us pay that save property tax elsewhere over and over and over again.Sometimes a gun is just a gun.Comment

You are comparing apples to oranges.
The purchase of a financed phone, much like the purchase of a car, includes the mandatory payment of CA Taxes for the full amount paid for that item.
The discussion above is not like this at all. It was about the Ammo Dealer charging taxes on items (their store stocked ammo) that was NOT actually purchased. They can only charge tax on the actual item purchased, at the exact price it was purchased for.Comment

Ok, I just checked again. Now, I don't know if they had a previous version, but this is a version just posted a couple days ago by the owner.
Below is a screenshot of their contract, see the part I encircled:
