Ammo Availability

I went to my local Walmart yesterday and all of the ammo had been removed from the shelves. There was a sign on the the cabinets stating that they could not sell ammo until further notice, due to to the fact the state of California had not not responded regarding their vendor license!
This is ludicrous!!!!!!
I don't buy a lot of ammo from Walmart, but the fact that California is not issuing vendor licenses is nothing but a way of preventing law abiding citizens from purchasing ammo!
Does anyone have any insight into this?
