Donating ammo

Is there an organization that accepts donations of ammo in the L.A./SFV area?

I have 120 rounds of .243 ammo I've been trying to sell but there are no takers (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...highlight=.243). Instead of lowering the price further (it's already a bargain), I'd rather donate it (I'd like it to go to a recognized, worthwhile & legitimate organization).

Please advise if anyone knows of an organization locally that can use .243. I want to make a FTF transfer. Post here or send a PM. Thanks.

I would think that most all organizations taking donations for various charities would have a caniption fit if you even mentioned ammo. Just a guess.

Keep them. Later on, you can trade some one for what you can use.

Check with your local fire station. I know they take outdated flares, pyros, and such....

In SF, SFPD accepts ammunition @ any of their precinct stations, no questions asked

How about contacting Kes and asking him if he's willing to accept it and use it as a prize or raffle it off to support the CGSSA?

Watch for someone selling a gun and see if they want to include your ammo in their sale as a package deal?

^^ Dumb unless he gets paid somehow for the deal. Wait and sell thru vendor for 5 buck fee on buyers side. sakofs is even dumber ship from socal to sfpd so they can destroy it. PM me and maybe we can meet in sfv and I will get for the boyscouts i took a bunch to our private range couple weeks ago. I just picked up 2k 22 lr for them. Need .410 now and 20 gauge.

Wouldn't be the first time, and if it bothers you why not give the OP what he's asking and give it a new home.... Or... make him a fair offer. Anything is better than giving it away....

Contact the local Boy Scouts. My grandson's Cub Scout group shoots .22 and the leader will let the kids shoot a couple rounds out of his 30-30 too.

Not necessarily true.
Some firemen actually use it themselves.
