    Don't forget your Bird shot

Happy holidays to all, I thought it would be a good idea to mention Bird shoot to all the members. I know a lot of us have been building up our ammo piles, this stuff just happens to be one of the ammo types I have forgotten about, probably because it's always been easy to find.

    Just a friendly reminder.

The last few seasons of dove and squirrel hunting, whatever left over was put away inside a Wal-Mart plastic 30 cal cans and the ones for the shotshells. I have gotten 3 each cans of number 7 1/2, 8, and 9 of 12ga and 20ga. Along with that have 2 cans each for the 12ga & 20ga of 4, 5, & 6. Steel shot has it's own cans too. I been doing very bad with upland so all these bridshot been building up. For squirrel with the law for hunting hunting squirrel with shotgun, with all that lead shot will you know the rest of the story's about lead free. Anyhow I'm good to go and only have to stock up a little more of the buck and slug. I don't waterfowl or turkey hunt so these shotshells is not stock for my but I did bought a box or two to used as my HD because buckshot and slug is to much for a city home/house.

I have been cleaning and organizing my shop reloading area. I will be selling some brass and bullets and primers. While looking under bench at shotshells
I found couple boxes with ammo I was given by neighbor. In bottom was 10 boxes of 20 gauge steel high velocity loads #6. Also 20boxes mixed 12 and 20 gauge field loads. Nice find it was under box he gave me that has 5 k primers spp/lpp/srp/lrp/209 shotgun. Couple hundred .277 nosler partition rnl 130 grain. I will sell them i do not have a .270

It has been upstairs and under sink in bathroom and on shelves. I made a deal years ago for european pigeon loads 1 3/16 ounce number 7 shot even trade for federal field loads 3/1/8 cheap 5 bucks a box and it is the best Chukar and Quail load now I can only use for Chukar on our club.. Iwish I had traded for couple thousand rounds.

Sitting pretty good, sitting on about 7000 mixed 12,20,28, and .410 mostly steel. And about 1500 mixed slugs and buck.

I shoot 50 rds a month and am ok for quite a while.
Birdshot unlike rifle or pistol does not appear to lend itself to dry practice.
Thank you OP for the kind reminder to stock up ASAP.
Note of caution one club member bought I think 20 one hundred packs at Walmart.
Somehow this triggered a call to the police who met him in the parking lot.
No problem but who needs that !
