New Ammo Laws - FFL fees

Do we have an idea of what FFL's will likely charge for receiving ammunition?

Law says $5 for the transaction, but the store can charge more for the trouble. just as long as they keep that charge separate from the $5 fee. (like DROS, only $25 but stores can charge a separate line for "processing" and that can be as much as they want)

I haven't found any FFL's willing to receive ammo purchased online nor do they know how to. I would imagine that the process is or should be similar to that of an OOSF where the FFL also needs to collect CA Sales Tax too but again no one has a clue.

Receiving a gun you can call around and people charge anywhere from $50-$100 just to receive it. In regards to ammo, I haven't found a single FFL with a plan.

I know, I am two of those FFL's. We're four days away and no one knows anything. I've got customers already approaching me and asking for us to receive their ammo and I can't because of the lack of information on the process. If we are the authorized people to receive it then surly we will need to be audited and able to account for it. Do we need a log book for ammo now too? Are they (DOJ), not going to have us account for it and just receive it?

After researching what we think the law says and after getting my cute 8 1/2" x 11" certificate as an Ammunition Vendor License from the State of Kalifornia today, AND checking with our resident legal expert, we developed the following policy and contract. Please see attached PDF's

If you don't like our position --- PLEASE start your own storefront to be an Ammunition Vendor -- we need more vendors to support the shooting industry.

If you can't start a store then get even more involved in CalGuns and other political groups -- we need more people to stop the nut jobs in Sacramental.

At least we can private party 500 rounds of ammo per month without vendor BS. So if not 22 lr there will be deals on centerfire ammo. And reloading components no problem. Only thing I did not see was how much ammo a family member can send you on prop 63 site.
