SKS sling missing something

I've been trying to figure out how to get this sling to attach to my SKS but now I'm thinking it may actually be missing a leather tab. Maybe someone can enlighten me?

You might be missing a keeper but that should not matter. Looks like you could still install it like this

Ditch the sks sling for a 12 buck GI sling if you plan on using a sling to improve marksmanship.
