Gift for myself, got rimfire bug.

I shoot steel challenge and paper, I also like reducing the squirrel and population when I get a chance. Maybe I am looking to add to the collection. I am thinking about a CZ Kadet but don't know how accurate they are? I already have a browning Buckmark and a smith and Wesson 41. I also was thinking about getting a 17 hmr upper for my AR lower for shooting yotes, ground squirrels, and paper and just fun to shoot.

.17HMR is too small for coyotes IMHO. I bought a .243 for that purpose.

I have a Savage Mk ii, a Winchester 190 and a Marlin 60. The Winchester has iron sights at the moment but the Savage and the Marlin can consistently knock down shotgun hulls at 40 yards and that's accurate enough for me.

I just like the idea of having a AR in 17 hmr. Accuracy at 50 yards is 3/4-1"

I haven't picked up either of my Buckmarks since getting a Kadet

I doubt the Kadet will match the 41 for accuracy but I'd imagine it to be a really close second

I've only put 300 rounds thru my Kadet but it's uber reliable, handles any cartridge with no failure and is butter soft shooting mounted on a steel frame CZ 75

        I've run Aguila 40gr HV...CCI 40gr AR Tactical...CCI 40gr RN mini mag...
CCI 40 gr Blazer...with no failures

But that's as much a testiment to the ammo as the platform

The slide is so narrow on the Kadet it's hard to get a grip on, but with last round hold open one rarely needs to slingshot the slide...and it's a minor inconvenience for all the pluses

It's hard to recommend the Kadet since you can "between the eyes" with your S&W 41...but if you didn't have that...or wanted to turn it into a safe queen...

Yeah if you're looking to stay in .22lr...the Kadet is awesome

The only negative I've read is having to replace the barrel roll pin after several thousand rounds and supposedly there's an iron clad roll pin out there to end replacement

Why do you take the Kadet over the buck marks? More accurate ? More comfortable? Better trigger? Just curious.

depending on the CZ platform you mount the Kadet on...your stuck with or loving the trigger

The modified buckmark trigger (spring swap) results in a lighter poundage trigger than a CZ 75 SA...but that doesn't necessarily result in more accuracy...I find the buckmark release point all over the place

I think size and weight of the steel buckmark feel similar to a steel frame CZ but I get a lot less muzzle flip with the CZ...for me it's a softer shooter with a more consistent trigger

I have a camper I shot with stock barrel, converted to TacSol with 1911 grip panels for a larger grip...and a 5.5 Contour...I really like the size weight of both

I like the Kadet better cause I train with the same trigger, it's a more consistent release & reset than the lighter pull after modification of the buckmark...

I've shoot both Buckmarks with C-mores mounted and I'm more accurate Kadet iron sights out to 15 yards...after that the cmore red dot has the advantage

The Kadet is also a great cross trainer for 9mm cause you're using full size mags unlike the skinny buckmark's

I don't think I would have bought the Kadet if I had a 41 though
From what I've read the 41 is a tack driver

I know it sounds like I'm bailing on the Buckmarks but I think I'm in love with the .22lr platform on my 9mm frame...is it akin to a rimfire AR? I don't own one so...I don't know...but I like shooting .22lr from the frame I'm gonna defend with

I can have a real AR, less noise, more accurate, and rounds are lighter to carry.

                  Cons. Mags. are $25 each.

The CZ Kadet is excellent and I like it a lot better than the Buckmark.
