    Question?

    I do need some help.i would like to uprade my .380 to .40 or 9mm. i have owned my .380 approx. 7 yrs. i have not buy a gun since. Now i want to upgrade. what kind of paper work do i need in order to buy another one?

      You go to a gun store.

      You pick the gun you like.

      You tell the salesman - "I'll take it"

      He asks you "Do you have your Handgun Safety Certificate?"

      You say "No"

      He says "Take this test. The cost of the test is $25"

      You say "OK" and proceed to take the test.

      You pass the test.

      The salesman fills out the paperwork and issues you your Handgun Safety Certificate.

      You pay for the gun.

      The salesman hands you a receipt.

      You come back 10 days later and pick up your gun.

      When you come back to pick up your gun, the salesman should have a bunch of stuff for you to sign.

      Sign it, and then go home with your new toy.

          thank you for being very specific, i know i took that class long time ago but i think i miss placed the certificate

              yeah, and you also need to bring a lock with a receipt that you purchased the lock with in the last ten days of the day you bought the gun. If not, just buy one from the gun store.

                          7 years ago, I think they had a different type of certificate system. I don't think they are accepted anywhere anymore; the new HSC is required. You must take the new test - but it's really easy, so don't worry. I think it's like 30 multiple choice questions.

                          EDIT: Thanks CHIEF - I forgot about the stupid gun-lock thing. Usually I'll just buy one from the store where I did the DROS. They're only a couple of bucks.
