i prefer Federal TruBall slugs and Federal FlightControl buckshot for accuracy from a smooth bore shotgun..

for HD, many or most recommend 00 buckshot.
if you are super concerned about over penetration, consider #4 buck if you can find some.

      OP
      Buy
      250 rds- Slugs
      750 rds- 00Buck various types
      250 rds- #4buck
1-2k rds- game loads- steel, lead-free etc
2-3k rds- plain jane target loads- all shot sizes 7-9

I love spending others money, I want to see you buy this op. Post pictures so we can all see

It all boils down to what you are shooting, how often you shoot, how much you shoot and most importantly what you can afford.

Deadline is coming soon and you probably aren't the only one ordering online in CA so expect delays. TargetSports has a delay in shipping now.

Try 00buck, low recoil. Very easy to handle, less penetration indoors, and 1200 fps is plenty lethal. I love them in my 870's.

Walmart had 12g buck Supremas. 25 rounds for $10. People were ignoring them. I bought 2 boxes. Now they're gone. I should have bought them all.

Most of my sh ammo consist of 60% bird, 30% buck and 10% slug.

Bird is still lethal close range.
Buck will bring any man down.
Slug if you absolutely want something destroyed.

If you're looking for a 00 Buck defensive round this stuff is great. Comes in 8 or 9 pellet and regular or reduced recoil. Note that the 9 pellet rounds are ever so slightly longer than the 8 pellet. This matters in my Benelli m4 (one less round) but doesn't impact my 870. They also have #1 Buck and 000. And free shipping if you buy a case. The Fed LE also has their "flight control wad" which makes for tighter patterning...a good thing in a home defense situation...

Federal Law Enforcement 12 Gauge Ammo 2-3/4" 00 Buckshot 8 Pellet at Target Sports USA with free shipping available. Enjoy deals on 12 Gauge ammo.|^||^|

For in-home defense, I use Federal Premium LE 1 Buck or 00 Buck. The Sellier and Bellot 00 Buck feels very similar, although the pattern is not nearly as tight.
                    Plus 1 on this^^
The S&B ammo is good stuff and the deal at Midway makes it inexpensive to practice with
Buy a couple cases because I really doubt we'll ever see that ammo that cheap again after 1/1/18.

I agree with those who recommended S&B buck from Midway. Great price, good ammo.

I really don't see any reason why you shouldn't buy a little bit of everything. You're stocking up after all. Post 2018, maybe one day you will realize you need some sort of ammo urgently, and your local ammo dealers might not have any. Get birdshot, buckshot, and slugs.
