Coyote Valley. The best sporting clays place I have ever been to.

        Coyote...

They have an upper, more difficult course up on the hill. Must make reservations for that....friggin awesome.
Wilson Protector .45, Springer 9mm Loaded, Franchi Instinct SL .12ga. and some other cool stuff for the kiddos...

Birds landing, between Rio Vista and Fairfield isn't bad. It's not quite as challenging as Coyote but it's still fun.

Great suggestions. Coyote in Morgan Hill is more challenging but Birds Landing is great fun as well. Birds Landing also has a back 9 sort of course that is a nice challenge with a buddy because it has 4 throwers each stand that your buddy can pick and choose while you shoot.

There’s a fenced off “instruction” area (like cheap white livestockish looking fence) way up the trail at coyote that’s open to the public. You get the feeling you’re not supposed to be there but as long as nobody else is there it’s up for grabs. That’s my kids favorite station, we call it “arcade mode” it’s super fun

Can you describe better where this is? Do they have the card reader at that station? You sure you aren't accessing the mountain course from the regular course?

A bit further out is Comachee Hunting Preserve and sporting clay course.
They run three clay courses and two 5 stands plus a trap field.
I usually shoot at Birds Landing but occasionally get up to Comanchee.
Largest sporting clay facility in California, trap range, grouse bunker, 5 stand, instruction available, open year round, open to the public

As mentioned, Coyote Valley is a high end place for sure. Look around to see who's shooting with you, you may recognize some well know folks from the sports world.
The mountain course is extremely fun. All hand set targets and a puller will travel with you. Three shooter minimum, but I have shot with just two and paid for and shot 3 hundred targets, they were good with that.

Another vote for Rooster Ranch. It's more in the valley out here, but great place outside of Newman.

I actually take customers there for work on a regular basis, I call it "customer appreciation"

I am with all the people that already suggested Coyote Valley Sporting Clays.

Take a cigar with you and enjoy your cigar and a beer (beer you can buy there) and enjoy it on the nice back patio after your session.
