Ammo for my G19

Anyone care to shed some light on an estimated good price for JHP and FMJ rds in bulk say 500rds, 1000rds or even by the 20 &25rd box? Have got to begin stocking up if you know what I mean and I’m sure you do! Online price estimates would be nice but retail would be nice also. I know your estimates won’t all be the same but I’m just looking to see about what the 9mm rd is going for these days. ThanksComment

If your range allows it then go for the cheapest steel cased ammo you can buy. Its a glock, not a 1911.. so it'll shoot anything.

Online you can get decent 9mm (Freedom/Magtech/Blazer) for around .18cents a round ($9 a box)...Tula and other steel cased is as low as .15 cents ($7.5 a box). My LGS sells magtech for .24cents a round ($12 a box)
If you shop around on ammo seek etc.. you can find a little lower but you have to factor in shipping and customer experience
I just stocked up so I hope this info helpsComment

I use Magtech 115g FMJ for range/target practice. Cheap and never had an issue through my G19. HD I use Federal 147g +p. Shot 50 rounds through the G19 at the range and not a single malfunction. Pretty confident in the ballistics of that round for HD.Comment

The problem is with the CA compliant 10rd mags. Many (including myself) get jams with most JHP ammo - FMJ is no problem. Different mag followers help but I still don't trust it for HD service yet with JHP. I have not tried blocked standard mags yet. I've heard they work much better with JHP.NRA & CRPA member

Defense/carry: HST 124gr
Training: whatever wolf steel case is cheapest. If I end up at a picky range I use from my stash of S&B or blazer brass.
Love steel cased ammo. If you shoot a lot and buy by the case, the savings add up fast.Comment
