    Cabelas flyer

Got a cabelas flyer in the mail today stating that Jan 1, 2018, Ca law will make it illegal to ship ammo, reloading Bullets and brass, magazines, and speedloaders via the internet or mail order without shipping to a licensed dealer.

I have heard about the ammo ban, but this other stuff is new news to me about reloading stuff? Is it true or just official marketing BS? I will never order from Cabelas again, especially if they are lying about what can be shipped via the internet.

I posted this in the Ca laws forum but it didn't get any responses due to lack of traffic. Can anyone answer the question definitively? Tired of BS Ca laws that are so confusing to keep track of.

I saw another thread on the topic but couldn't find it. Makes me sick that a company would print out false propaganda to get people to spend money with them in a rush. I have had a Cabelas Visa for years now that I exclusively use for everyday purchases so I get Cabelas bucks, which pay for whatever I want from them after building up over the year.

Now that they are charging sales tax to Ca residents and spreading false info to make money, I am done shopping there ever again. I will also cancel my credit card from there. Can't stand a company taking advantage of people who are already getting violated for no reason (Californians).

        It's just their marketing.

Most likely they just looked at CA legal defintion for "ammunition" [PC 16150] and did not look at which definition applies to the CA laws that go into effect on 01-01-2018.

PC 16150(a) applies to the new laws, PC 30312 and 30314.

PC 16150(b) only applies to PC 30305 and 30306.
^Which are the CA laws regarding providing/transferring "ammunition" to prohibited persons.

Confusion comes from them thinking PC 16150(b) applies to PC 30312 and 30314.

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. Come January 1st, there's going to be a lot of confusion with out of State vendors with shipping components to Ca. I can see many of them not shipping components until it can be clarified.

I've been a Cabela's customer for many decades. Cabela's has many one of a kind type of hunting gear. My only complaint with the Bass Pro buyout is we now have to pay sales tax. I will just wait until there are sales with free shipping and they sometimes offer 10% off and free shipping. I will still be a customer.

The fact is come January 01, 2018, there will be no more internet / out of state sales of ammunition. I don't see how Cabela's is using "Scare tactics", this is a fact.

Because of the uncertainty of component sales after Jan. 01, I've been stockpiling components over the past few months. I even made an order to Midsouth Shooters today, since they had a $3.99 shipping offer, I bought a couple thousand bullets. I have enough components to last me the the next few years until this gets sorted out through the Courts.

Anyone who hasn't seen this coming is a fool.
