How about those Gen 5 Glocks

Well. I bought a G19 gen 5. This was more of an impulse buy. I really didn't have a need or want for it other than ideas of what I would have wanted to do with it. I currently have a gen 3 G19 that's stippled, rmr cut with trigicon rmr on top, zev barrel, milled slide etc etc etc.. I'm happy with what I have now and thinking of selling the Gen 5. I don't see myself selling it for the "$1000" asking price that most calgunner's try to get lol. Then again, maybe I should keep it.

    What do you all think?

My biggest gripe with the gen 5 is the take down tabs spring. That part just feels cheap. I like the rest of it from what I've fondled of them.

What is it that makes everyone want one? Of course I mean most Californians. Besides the fact that its off roster, is it really worth the extra $200-$400 that people pay for it?

It's off-Roster and the new hotness.

No fingergrooves is the only feature I like about it.

IMO... It's not worth the extra $200+ that people are asking for.

Gen 1 and Gen 2 are still my favorite Glocks. They have yet to "improve" it with anything that entices me to be interested in the changes. Actually, I think any of the changes were mere sacrifices to "trends" as opposed to actual improvement or meaningful design innovation.

Though the rotating barrel and lug could be interesting innovation worth checking out.

That's on the Glock 46, which has not been imported into the USA.

And you're ok with that grip cutout hitting your fingers each shot?

I like the flared magwell and the trigger feels better. And the slide/barrel fit seems tighter. I'm going to put the FBI contract sights on mine as soon as ebay drops another flash sale.

I'm going to have an rmr installed on my gen 5 G17 and run it in uspsa carry optics div. Still using my gen 3 for production class. It still runs better than I do.

Dear god let the flash sale happen soon. I missed the last two 15 off 75. Already have my watch list filled with goodness.

I hate Gen3 Glocks.. feel awful in my hand..

                              So I have a Gen4 G17 and my Gen2 G19.. no desire for a Gen5..
