    Kydex Grip Wrap Question

Does one side of the grip have to remain flat (legally)? Can the grip be made where both sides of the Kydex fold around the pre-existing grip? Asking because all the pictures of grips I see have one side flat and the other side wrap around the pre-existing grip.

Pretty sure it’s done that way to increase the shelf for your thumb. Also pretty sure it doesn’t matter.

What Quickdraw said. As long as your thumb cant wrap around the pistol grip you're good.

i think it is easier to produce a grip wrap with one side flat, and as quickdraw said it also gives you a larger thumb shelf. but if you have left and right handed shooters, a fin that is centered on the grip would be the way to go.

One side flat to maximize surface area to grip the rifle.

You can legally make it symmetrical L-R but after you grip one you'll quickly realize that they're offset for a reason.

No legal restriction. However practicality will play an issue. The only restriction is to prevent the web of your hand to wrap around the grip below the trigger action.

Thanks guys. Was asking because I made two awhile back like that with the fin centered. You're all right in that it is easier to make it with one side off center I just never thought about it at the time.
