The D-ring is very useful when you need to clip something to your belt, like keys, flashlights, tools, etc. and has never gotten in the way.

    The one I generically wear

Oh got ya, techlok. Ya I haven't had the chance to play with them too much. Looks interesting, not a bad set up. Thanks for the input. The blackhawk looks scuba webbed and stiffer than the edc belt I picked up on Amazon. It has four molle holes towards the front but has no rigidity at all.

So many options, thanks everyone. I have some research to do. I really need to try a few set ups and see which is most comfortable.

me i'm about to purchase one of those double belts for competition.

it gets annoying to have to unbelt myself at the beginning and end of the day.

i do wish more companies would use that bladetech's techlok setup so you can easily clip on/off the gear, but i'm guess since bladetech patented their system, no one else can get one made that is similar.

The BEST system is the ELS system from Safariland. My belt has ELS brackets all around it and allows me to change very quickly- as in seconds- the type, number, and location of my gear as needed. All shotgun stage? No problem, unclip the mag pouches and holster and put on shell caddies. Long pistol stage? Drop the shotgun shell caddies and add another couple of pistol mags.
The usual config is three pistol mag pouches on the left side, an AR mag pouch, and a magnet (to hold my make ready pistol mag). On the right side is the pistol rig. I currently use a Safariland drop leg rig for 3-gun and a Safariland QLS bracket on a TekLok for USPSA. There are ELS brackets on the center front of the belt for shotgun caddies. However, I can change this layout in seconds.

I missed the part of the OP that he wanted a comp holster rig???
I thought the gist was buying a gp all around belt/holster/pouches.
BEST is always subjective to the user after all.
That is why we have holster collections sitting in a box somewhere in the house. Okay, at least I do. Kinda like rifle slings, but I digress.

            Good luck OP. [emoji111]

while the ELS is the best system, i'm only looking for something that works best with my gear that i have already.

a competition double belt setup is the best for me who is looking to spend as little as possible and to use all my current gear without doing upgrades to them.

i'm just looking to not have to take off my belt to put the gear on/off before the day starts, and when i'm done with all the stages.

Question: ELS System, if I were to get the ELS belt and USPSA drop attachment can I attach a QLS to the end of the USPSA and change out holsters? If so I may just go that route and get a holster for each gun then I'm set.

I believe you can use a BOSS with a QLS, although I do not use one. I use a QLS mounted on a TekLok, and could have built an aluminum offset bracket had i wanted to.

I think you may be somewhat confused. ELS- Equipment Locking System- can be used with ANY belt, you just have to drill/melt/otherwise make the required mounting holes into it if it does not already have them. I have seen people do this with Double Alpha, Bladetech, and CRSpeed belts. The Safariland competition belt, which is an inner outer belt, and the Carbon Arms CARBS belt, are both inner/outer belt systems that are designed to work with the ELS system. I personally prefer the CARBS belt, but currently use a modified Safariland belt. The ratchet system is AWESOME to put on and take off the belt between stages.

                      Just another observation-

If you are getting into and out of vehicles or into weird positions, a drop offset is not going to be very comfortable. The option is to use a drop leg rig like the one from Blackhawk! or Safariland. I finally switched to one myself for multigun, because so many matches now have us starting in vehicles, sitting at a desk, or having to crawl/climb/duck around over and through stuff. The drop offset rig becomes less awesome doing these things. It works great for USPSA, but is less than optimal for other things.

Ya, I have a blackhawk thigh rig already and it is not very comfortable (rides high in my crotch), nor practical since I don't have the ability to drive in a car with a loaded gun attached to me in the fine state of california.

the ELS rig is getting more and more ideal to me. Though the highspeed gear molle belt with mag tacos looks nice too and would be easy to unclip and throw in my trunk too.

I've been told that Highspeed gear Gcode holsters arent that great though for the money.

I am looking for a drop offset attachment to a belt (that I can take off without all the attached mag holders coming off) that I can swap out holsters on the fly (QLS,teklok, Molle) and have aprox 4 pistol mag holders on the side and 2-3 AR mag holsters in back .... without having to load each piece on every time.

I think I'm just asking for too much. I may need to realize that I will need a different rig for each gun; pistol, AR, Shotgun.

Still curious about the QLS attachment to the USPA drop

**** anyone have any experience with an ELS belt, USPSA drop, and QLS clips? Google is not showing me much except for holsters bolted on to the uspsa or alternatively using a completely different drop offset mount like a duty belt drop. please advise.

                        To be clear:

                        will this belt :

Explore our duty holsters, concealment holsters, and optic-ready holsters. Find the perfect fit for Law Enforcement, Military, and First Responders.

                        when attached to this drop:

The Safariland® Model 5198 holster is lightweight, with low-cut sides allowing for an easy draw, and an open-top designed for defensive pistol competition. The holster is also well suited for concealed carry due to its compact size. A trigger guard detent and adjustable tension device secure the gun in the holster duri

                        Then use this QLS:

The QUICK-KIT includes the QLS 19 Locking Fork and QLS 22 Receiver Plate components. Constructed of injection-molded nylon, the receiver plate can be attached at different angles according to user preference. The QLS (Quick Locking System) allows for quick transfer of gear between attachment points such as a belt loop,

                        to This holster:

The Safariland® Model 5198 holster is lightweight, with low-cut sides allowing for an easy draw, and an open-top designed for defensive pistol competition. The holster is also well suited for concealed carry due to its compact size. A trigger guard detent and adjustable tension device secure the gun in the holster duri

will each piece attach in that order? that would make the end holster interchangeable between guns.

The CARBS belt minus the drop leg.

                            ELS receiver on belt

Drop offset, QLS set, and holster

                            Mag pouch with ELS clip

USPSA and some Multigun matches setup with QLS on a TekLok

                            With Safariland drop rig

                            With shotgun caddy in front

Nice setup. That's what I was looking for. The drop offset attachment you have is the duty one I've been looking at. Is that the 2" slide hanger?

I assume the USPSA drop I referenced will attach considering it has the 3 holes on the bottom. If that's the case I will probably go that way. It just makes sense.

Now I need to see if safariland will do anything for black Friday.

The slide attachment is molded in, I assume it is 2". I drilled bolt holes through it to lock it in place.

The USPSA drop will work fine.
