Spam everywhere

I just see all of the spam everywhere today and it's insane. I really think that you should have at least 100 posts before you can start a thread. That would eliminate so much of this garbage.

I am thinking:

A) Ban all these " new " names that did it.

B) New members that will join should have a " sponsor ", or " recommended " by a long time Calgun member. Without such, then they cannot join.

C) Those who are able to join, should have at least a minimum 100 " civilized " posts before being allowed to make their own " thread ".

I am just sick and tired seeing all these good-for-nothing, trash this website.

One of the car forums I belong to got so bad we had to all change our passwords. The new passwords are so long and complicated, it's a real PITA to log on. Hope that doesn't become necessary here. Has gotten much worse lately.

One reason used against upgrading the software is how people with feedback and iTrader will lose them.

It's all spam bots registering accounts and pointing threads to compromised servers for malware infested pirate streams.

A simple Captcha on the registration and or login page would knock down 90% or more of this.

After reading all posts in this thread, I noticed another 6 spam threads in this section. My thought is to require a certain number of posts, before being able to create a thread.

I just banned 51, with over 100 posts.

Please remember, the 'I hate Spam' thread is http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1385820. Threads in other forums are, well, kind of spam-y.
