    Ammo Storage

I'd like to store some of my ammo in the garage but I am concerned about the heat. I live in SoCal so summer temps can get pretty toasty in my upper storage compartments in the garage. Is this an unsafe practice, or is it common?
I'd guess temps up to 120 in the Summer up there.

Is ammo being stored there for long term storage or is it generally being shot up?

Do a search here on CGN; it is well covered territory.

Moisture is more of a concern than ambient heat that is tolerated by most mammals. Ammo is designed to tolerate mass more temperature than that to cook off.

Ody, why do you assume I didn't? I honestly didn't find the answer (though a few discussed putting in the car which I'm sure relates).

Sky, no not long term <30 days.

Wiley, lol, I guess all I can say to that is duh. I shoulda thought of that myself.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
